Blood Sweat Tears? More Like Badass Scintillating Tunes

Groundbreaking recently released his latest EP, called Blood Sweat Tears. Since I haven't posted in a while, I figured this would be a great time to review something for the holidays. And what better for the festive season than edgy music?

Song 1: Humanize: 6.5/10. It was a song, it wasn't super below average to the point to deserve a 6, but it definitely doesn't deserve to be considered a 7. It had some tastiness, some alright jams, but yeah. Plus, I'm 90% certain the intro is Head Down by NIN x2. Song 2: Blood: 8/10. This is some pretty tasty shit, i like it, made me hyped for the full release, as this was one of two songs released early. Song 3: Sweat: 9/10. Some fucking tasty ass shit. It's got some tasty lyrics, some tasty beats, and overall I'd yum this. Song 4: Tears: 4/10. My notes on this were "wtf is this". The song is... well, not great. The instrumental portion of it just feels off and lacking, and the singing doesn't help either. Still, a lot of people liked it, so maybe it's not all that bad? Give it a listen I guess, tell me what you think. Song 5: Guts: 6.5/10. This sounds even more like head down. It suffers a weird limbo where it's hard to tell if I like it or not. Another track from an earlier EP, Anxiety from Insert Genre Here, also had the same feel, but I ended up liking it. I think. I still don't know. Song 6: Glory: 9/10. Nice intro, just a pretty tasty jam overall my dude. Lyrics are great too. Almost yum material, but not quite. Overall: 7/10 Pretty neato, brought a couple more good songs, I'd mark down 2018 GB as some good shit. (Review on the other EP released in 2018 coming soon [maybe])

The Only Good Country Music

Everyone hates country music. That's because it sucks. It's just over-autotuned pop with 'Murican lyrics, singing about trucks and girls. That's it. Oh, and beer. Can't forget the beer.
So, what could be good country music? You know I hate a lot of shit. But, what if I told you there's a country band that isn't absolute shit? Not autotuned, not pop, not 'murican at all? I present to you: The Avett Brothers. Sure, there's still a lot of acoustic guitar, and there's still a lot of songs about girls and love and shit like that, but hey, what song nowadays isn't about some girl? I mean, if it's not that, it's either like, rock, or like some fan song for a game or something, or like, I dunno, random noise or something. Still, point stands, if you don't like that shit, then this ain't for you. I'm here to try and find the best shit out there, and to tell you that some shit is just shit. I want to help you all. That's the job of a reviewer.
The Avett Brothers feature some tasty guitar, and a really good harmonization of the brothers whilst they sing. They go from country slow and sad to country loud and rock. Sometimes both extremes are in the same song. So, you want real country music? Stop eating your fuckin' Chips Ahoy saturated bullshit and come taste some fresh homemade chocolate chip.

Underappreciated Japanese Band

Ever heard of QOOLAND? Yeah, me either, until I was browsing around some music recommending sites. This one in particular was quite the blessing. One of the best anime openings I've heard, Asphyxia (I'll talk about that godliness in a different post), was by Co Shu Nie (i'm missing the dots on the o). So, I slapped in their name to see related/similar bands. Since it gave me like 8 different things, I just decided to slap the one that stood out the most to me, which was QOOLAND. They had a spotify, luckily, so I gave a couple songs a listen. It was amazing. It wasn't like, Asphyxia level amazing, or like Stabbing Westward amazing, but it was pretty damn fuckin' close. Some of their best works include Today Today Today & Yesterday, Heya To Aidoru, Aru Koto Nai Koto, and a personal favorite, Byakuyakou. They have some pretty chill songs, but they mostly focus on rock. And boy oh boy, do they have some good shit in that department. So, if you're a weeb, or just someone who likes foreign music, or even if you just need a new weird jam, check out QOOLAND. They're pretty fucking neato.

Finally, Some Good Fucking Sequel

Y'know how like every time some movie gets big and they decide to release a sequel its a pile of shit? Like, guardians of the galaxy, or the santa clause, or whatever else you can think of. Maybe like aladdin or the lion king or something, I dunno, never watched the sequels for those. But, last weekish, I watched Ralph Breaks The Internet, the sequel to Wreck it Ralph. Now, a lot of you probably expect the movie to be shit. Its not. It doesnt actually succumb to the sequel quality decrease that like every other franchise has succumbed to. The plot isn't all *that* great, but its not shit. It actually does a good job of sticking to its foundation, meanwhile not doing the same thing over again. This time, instead of looking behind the screen of arcade games, its looking behind the screen of the internet, and also introducing these old characters from almost before internet times into this weird world. It has a good sense of humor, although, of course, there is some humor that really only appeals to younger audiences, but it's made for kids, so shut up. Overall, its a solid 8 in my book. So if you liked the original wreck it ralph, and are not sure about the sequel, have no fear, its still good.

Everyone Listen To Stabbing Westward

Yes, it's edgy, as you probably judged from the name. But it's not unbearably edgy. It isn't one of those bands that screams about death and murder and torture and cutting and other stuff like that. The one thing I would say would be worth staying away from is the first album, Ungod. It's honestly not that great, there are a few good songs, but even those good songs are only ok-ish. Once it gets to WBB+P, that's where it starts kicking it up. WBB+P has a bunch of good songs, it's not all good though, which is expected. But it just gets better. Darkest Days, the third album, is 16 songs of amazingness. No, they aren't all the fucking best. But even the bad songs aren't bad. Now, that's a pretty impressive feat for an album with sixteen fucking songs. After listening to Darkest Days, I honestly stopped listening to any new music by Stabbing Westward. Why, you may ask? Darkest Days was so good, I didn't want to listen to their title album (it's literally called Stabbing Westward, so it's confusing to talk about lmao) in fear that it would suck ass in comparison to Darkest Days. Earlier today, I mustered up the courage to listen to Stabbing Westward. Holy shit. This album is the best thing. Every single song is amazing. I thought Darkest Days was impressive. But this? This spits on Darkest Days. Every single song, from So Far Away to Television, it's all so fucking amazing, it's just ear candy. I swear, if songs were drugs, this album would be illegal. I'd overdose on this shit, and I'm not even suicidal anymore. (Ok, sorry, I shouldn't make suicide jokes.) But still, this album is great. So please, for your sake and mine, go listen to Stabbing Westward.

Honestly Fuck School

School can suck my dick. It's such a pain. There's so much unnecessary work and shit, like, when you're out in the real world, who the fuck is gonna care who started Bleeding Kansas or what the author meant when he was writing "The cat licked itself" or some random bullshit. NO ONE THAT'S WHO. It's just so unnecessary, and stupid, and ugh. It's not like I'm gonna just not do it though, which is the even more painful part. I want a good job, but school sucks. Too much meaningless shit, 4/10. That's my official review of the American education system.

Just Started A Blog

Woohoo, just started a blog. Am proud. So uh, for those curious about why I started this, or what I'll write about, or how often, or whatever, I'll answer those questions. Why did I start this? Well, my therapist recommended it to me, as I am a big fan of reviewing and ranking things, and writing as well, so I figured I'd use this. What am I gonna write about? Well, I'll probably write reviews of music and games, and I'll probably also just update stuff about me and my life. I'll try to write at the very least weekly, although my goal is to post daily. I may post multiple times in a day, so don't be alarmed if that's the case. But still, I hope you enjoy my content I guess, I dunno. I'll probably link a buncha stuff here just in case I don't have anywhere else to place links for shit.
